A sports turf manager doesn't have that option.

The schedule is the schedule. Friday night the stadium is full. Saturday morning the travel team is on the practice field. Sunday the varsity plays. The turf doesn't get a rest day because the calendar says it needs one. It gets ready or it doesn't — and if it doesn't, everyone notices.
